If you are a business owner, then we have important tips that may help you during this rollercoaster of a ride. We will endeavour to update this page as soon as information comes to hand. We work closely with Digital Ready, Business Tasmania (State Government) and other peeps who are in the know so that you can get the most from our resources.

If your business has been impacted due to coronavirus, you are encouraged to contact Business Tasmania on 1800 440 026 to discuss your situation and register your impact.

Check to see if you are eligible for any grants?

The grants space can be quite tricky at the moment with lots going on. We did want to flag two grants for Hobart businesses:

The eCommerce Support Grant is quick-response funding for small retail businesses affected by COVID-19. This grant covers fees associated with selling non-perishable goods online (ecommerce). There is $300 available per retail business.

Professional Assistance Grants assist small businesses with a cash contribution to cover the cost of professional services that may be required to adapt in response to COVID-19 and/or prepare for the recovery from COVID-19.

Switching to e-commerce where possible

We have already seen the impact the virus has had on the way people wish to shop. Being online can sometimes be scary so Digital Ready are a State Government (& FREE) program here to help businesses take this step.

The Digital Ready team cares about you and your business, and are working hard to produce new resources to help you manage the situation using readily available digital and e-commerce tools.

Rest assured their three main services – the Digital Ready website, digital coaching and seminars – will remain available to Tasmanian businesses.

The Digital Ready for Business website now has a dedicated COVID-19 landing page providing a new series of blog posts and factsheets relating to the current digital business environment. More topics will be added to this page in the coming months so make sure you check back in regularly : https://digitalready.tas.gov.au/responding-covid-19/

Digital coaching sessions will continue to be delivered around the state. These sessions will now be conducted online using Zoom or Skype or by phone. If you would like to book a coaching session as always you can do that via the Digital Ready website  https://digitalready.tas.gov.au/about/
