In truth, we don’t know when we might become lost or stranded and find ourselves in an emergency situation that we have not planned for, which is why even a basic survival course will help. Sometimes, these emergency situations can even come in the form of a natural disaster situation close to home (as it can with flooding or bushfires etc), which can take us out of our comfort zone. Quite simply, the better prepared you are, the better you'll cope with a given emergency situation.
