Expressions of interest are now open for Hobart businesses to participate in the Hello Christmas, Hello Hobart window display competition.
Hobart City will come alive this festive season, and we would love YOU (our amazing local businesses) to get involved. Think about creative and fun ways to bring the festive spirit to your shopfront.
Participating businesses will be listed on the Hello Hobart website, displayed on an online map and promoted across the City of Hobart and Hello Hobart social media channels. The City will encourage members of the public to move around all the decorated stores and vote for their favourite.
Entry is free for businesses within the Hobart LGA, and you will be given a QR code window decal to put up to encourage people to vote. This is a great way to make sure people stop and look at your store, even when you aren’t open – they might just see the perfect gift they then come back for.
So, what are you waiting for? It’s time to get festive this silly season!
Competition Period
There will be both a People’s Choice Award and a Photographic Competition running during the event period (18 November – 31 December 2023).
Voting period: Saturday 18 November (Hobart City Pageant Day) to Sunday 31 December 2023.
Businesses are welcome to have their decorations up longer or shorter than the voting time frame, however, votes can only be cast during the stated voting period.

Tips & Tricks
- Use lights to ensure your storefront gets attention (and votes) at night, as well as in the day.
- Make sure your business name is clear and easy to read – this way people will know who to vote for, and where they saw that must-have item.
- Tell a story, have a theme, create a scene. Make your display memorable.
- Feel free to use your own products in the display.
