Thai Veggie Hutt has been serving up tasty, fresh, vegetarian food in Hobart for over 15 years.
Offering a plethora of over 25 rotating dishes daily, from curries to soups, this small eatery tucked away in the Bank Arcade offers big flavour and is bound to impresses vegetarians and omnivores alike.
“Our extensive rotating menu keeps customers coming back to try new dishes and we focus on ensuring big flavour within all our dishes,” says Yaya.
There’s a totally vegetarian menu on offer, along with gluten free and vegan options. Using ‘mock meats’ along with fresh local vegetables and traditional Thai herbs and spices, even those who aren’t vegetarian are bound to be impressed. Their dishes really do taste as good as they look.
The Hello Hobart team sat down with owner Yaya and her team, who were busy in the kitchen cooking up a storm – the place seriously smelled amazing!
“Our hero dishes are definitely our Vegan BBQ and our Vege Duck Charcoal Grilled Buns topped with our house-made vegan mayo,” said Yaya, “many of our customers come back for these daily.”
Thai Veggie Hutt’s ethos is “vegetarian does not need to be boring”, perfectly summarising what to expect here. Their dishes are fresh, tasty and healthy making it the perfect lunch time stop.
“Our use of fresh Tasmanian produce ordered daily ensures all dishes taste fresh and pack flavour – there are no frozen vegies used here,” says Yaya.
With many new dishes added regularly to an already large menu, there is always something new and exciting to keep you returning for more.
Last year Thai Veggie Hutt was awarded the ‘top veggie eatery in Tasmania’ in a poll by the Mercury newspaper. Yaya and her team were very proud to receive this recognition and are thrilled to hear that many of their loyal customers love the food.
Located in the Bank Arcade on Liverpool Street, make Thai Veggie Hutt your next stop for lunch and experience for yourself why locals rave about this hidden gem.
