In the suite of new openings, we welcome to the city Aura.
Aura is situated at the very top of the Crowne Plaza Hotel, on level 12. This is a true rooftop bar, showcasing some of the very best views of Hobart.
The Hello Hobart team made the journey up to the top see what it is all about. Upon entering the venue, the views sell the experience alone. There are some true Insta worthy pictures from any direction – the mountain, the bridge, the waterfront – everything we love about this city is in clear view!
Aura is part restaurant, part bar and part event space. Open for lunch, dinner, drinks or simply a snack.
Bookings are highly recommended during peak times, but they welcome drop ins and will try to make something suit.
The wine list is full of Tasmanian wines that are a bit special. They also do some fabulous cocktails and the bar staff are well trained to match drinks with foods on offer.
On the lounge bar menu you will find such treats like Tasmanian Oysters which we have on good advice are some of the best in Tasmania, they will even have their own shucking station shortly! You will also find other delights such as cheese, chicken liver pate, classic beef tartar and charcuterie. The team here try and source as much local produce as possible, so the menu changes with the seasons.
Make sure you stop off at the bathroom for some of the coolest views whilst washing your hands in the whole of Hobart! The walls are equally cool, adorned with artwork from local artist Jamin.
