Join internationally acclaimed conductor David Lawrence (UK) as he makes his 6th appearance at Festival of Voices to conduct Verdi’s powerful Requiem.

Verdi’s Requiem is one of the most dramatic and operatic compositions of its kind, renowned as one of the most enthralling settings of the Catholic funeral mass. Although a mass for the dead, its emotional impact and dramatic intensity rival any night at the opera.

Join us at the 2025 Classical Choral Workshop: Verdi’s Requiem for the chance to sing this masterwork alongside choristers from across Australia and beyond, under the direction of the versatile and sought-after David Lawrence.

Participants will have the best experience in this workshop if they are well-versed and comfortable with the prepared score that will be provided upon registration. Due to the size and complexity of this work, the rehearsal sessions will focus on balancing singing parts and preparing for the performance.

This event is designed for those with extensive singing or choral experience who are able to prepare in advance and are proficient in music reading. Individuals, small groups, choral society members and church choir members will enjoy a welcoming, inclusive environment for a fulfilling, musically exciting experience.
