Irish twins The Ocelots have built their unique indie-folk sound around spellbinding, tightly blended harmonies. Playing open-tuned guitar, clawhammer banjo and harmonica, the brothers blend absurdity, sincerity and hilarious stage banter into an array of literature-inspired musings.
Returning to Australia for their third tour, The Ocelots will be playing songs from their new album Everything, When Said Slowly.
Opening for The Ocelots is Jessie Monk, an award-winning Avant-folk musician from GunaiKurnai Land, based between Naarm and Berlin. Playing in trio with jazz/Indian classical musicians Arlon Faria on piano/keys and Aidan Ryan on electric guitar.
The trio always delivers a deep and profound concert – more than just a gig – showcasing a concept album based on an ancient Celtic myth, Jessie tells potent and mythic stories while playing through her experimental-folk compositions, making it deeply warm and profoundly impactful evening of folklore and folk-jazz fusion.
