Located at the base of the Alceme building is The Sanctuary at Alceme, home to total bliss.
We spoke with Alice, the owner of this gorgeous space, about what makes this day spa so special.
The Sanctuary is 100% organic and natural. Everything they sell and use is Australian and where possible Tasmanian. They are also a Sodashi spa partner, a luxurious and organic brand where you have to be chosen to be a partner – well done Alice!
Clients can expect to come through the doors and truly ‘switch off’. Treatments on offer include facials, spa packages, beauty treatments, manicures/pedicures and massages.
Alice has really created a true sanctuary here with every detail thoughtfully placed. A highlight is the relaxation room for your post-treatment time with local tea and chocolate from nearby small businesses.
‘I love this building, it is so iconic. It is great to share the space with the delicious café Oddfellows and of course yoga upstairs’, says Alice.

Alice tells us that she always knew that she wanted to go down the day spa path opposed to the beauty industry. She prefers to spend three hours with someone to get them to truly relax rather than have clients come in and out for quick treatments.
‘I get so in the zone when I give a massage. It’s so relaxing for them, that I’m relaxed. It is very fulfilling. I love it.’
The most popular treatment for clients is the Sanctuary Escape, a whole 2 hours of pure bliss, including an aromatherapy massage followed by a Sodashi pure radiance facial.
