🏈 Spectate some sport

A-league football is coming to Hobart!

Get ready for a big weekend of Western United FC action in Hobart! The North Hobart Oval will be transformed into a soccer spectacle with a thrilling Double Header this Saturday, 3 February. The whistle for the first game will go at 2:30 pm, followed by an epic showdown at 5:00 pm. This is an amazing opportunity to see elite football right in our own backyard – plus tickets are just $20 for adults!

Sportos and Swiftys unite (IYKYK)! The Superbowl is coming on 12 February and a couple of local venues will be screening the event! Head on down to Fox Fridays or the Telegraph Hotel to check out all the action.

Up for a challenge? Sign up for Run the Bridge and enjoy a challenging (but rewarding) climb up and over Hobart’s iconic Tasman bridge.

Summer in Hobart means food and bev focused markets and festivals galore! Satisfy your cravings at the Twilight Market, Steet Eats @ Franko, Salamanca Market or Farm Gate Market. There are so many delicious food and bev options to choose from and lots of sunny outdoor spots to sit and soak in the atmosphere and enjoy the live entertainment!

Tas Wine Fest returns to the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens on February 10 & 11. There will be 25 stalls of Tasmanian vineyards & winemakers, plenty of great local foodie options and live entertainment, both roaming and on the main stage.

Ever wondered what it would be like to eat in complete darkness? Check out Dining in the Dark: A Unique Blindfolded Dining Experience at T42! Heighten your senses of taste and smell ‍while you enjoy a secret 3-course menu, that includes appetiser, main, and dessert – all while completely blindfolded! Check it out on 15 Feb.

Enjoy a taste of Italy at Festa Italia on 18 February! From gelato to pizza, Aperol spritz, pasta and panini – this festival is a celebration of all things Italian. Family-friendly and plenty of live entertainment.

In the mood for a movie night? Head on down to the The Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens on Feb 3 for Cinema in the Gardens! Grab a blanket, picnic basket and your mates and get ready to enjoy the Australian cult classic, The Castle!

The annual TasPride Festival will kick off with the Pride flag raising ceremony on Friday 9 February at the Town Hall. On Feb 10, join the fun at the Pride Parade followed by Party in the Park at Franklin Square.

2024 Lunar New Year Festival will be celebrating the Year of the Dragon. Held of Parliament Lawns on 11 February, this free family-friendly event will include Asian food, entertainment and cultural performances.

MONA FOMA will hit Hobart from Feb 15-25, providing Hobart with all things weird and wonderful. Keep an eye out for the MONA FOMA takeover at Franko Street Eats!

Microphone Sing, see, snicker.. Seinfeld!

Warm up those vocal chords and get ready to sing us a song, piano man! Irish Murphy’s are hosting a Billy Joel sing along on Feb 5. No solos and no commitment, just a big group sing with a drink in hand! Still got more? Belt out some bangers with Mrs Peterson, your local karaoke host at The Grand Poobah, every Thursday night from 8 pm.

Calling all Seinfeld super-fans! Grinners are hosting a special night of Seinfeld trivia on 14 Feb! Bookings are essential. Speaking of Grinners, they’re also hosting Cheeky Comedy – a night of stand-up comedy on 21 Feb! Check it out if you’re in the mood for a cheeky giggle or two.

Feb 3 marks the first Pre-loved Market of 2024! Held monthly in St James Hall, the market is a treasure trove of pre-loved and handmade treasures and unique vintage items.
