Looking for a lil pick-me-up during the colder months? Look no further than Lavada! Hobart’s own luxury boutique medispa that offers treatments designed to promote skin health and vitality including medical aesthetics and dermal therapies alongside massage and spa experiences.
Here at Hello Hobart, we LOVE indulging in self-care, so we popped into Lavada and met with founder Natasha to get the deets on what’s on offer.
“Over the last five years Lavada has gathered such loyal clients, now we have created this beautiful space just for them.”
She gave us a tour of their new elegant sanctuary in the IXL Courtyard off Hunter Street. As you arrive, Lavada beckons you through the arched doorway, past the stunning Tasmanian stone reception counter, and into one of their two pre and post-treatment lounges, where Australian tea is served before progressing to the skin and spa treatment rooms beyond.
“We work with each of our clients individually, starting with a consultation. They might have concerns like acne or rosacea they’d like to address. We prepare a tailored treatment plan with services from our extensive menu.”
Natasha was a trained nurse before she made the shift into cosmetic nursing and the world of injectables, providing a popular range of treatments that you don’t find at your everyday spa.
“We provide anti-wrinkle treatments, dermal fillers, and platelet-rich plasma (PRP), which is a natural procedure that involves drawing blood, isolating the plasma, and reinjecting it into the skin for rejuvenating results.”
Lavada is a licensed day procedure unit, offering injectables, skin health, and the spa, with clients often selecting a range of experiences as part of their treatment plan. Some of the procedures may seem intimidating, but fear not as you’re in good hands!
Natasha reassured us, “We are a growing team of women with a newly appointed doctor and highly qualified beauticians and massage practitioners.”
From microdermabrasion, dermapen4 (microneedling), and chemical peeling to LED light therapy and facial contouring massages, Lavada has got you (and your skin) covered.
“Many of our clients mentioned feeling stressed and tired and I knew we needed to provide more holistic care for the body and mind.”
The new space hosts a range of ayurvedic spa therapy rooms including a couples treatment area with adjoining travertine-lined dual shower. Here you can enjoy a detox body wrap, body scrub, facial, facial contouring massage, or breathwork sessions.
“They all work together, and they can be included in an individual treatment plan alongside our medical and skin health services.”
Natasha worked with interior architect Kate Simmons, bringing together the best Tasmanian materials and makers to create the iconic Tassie-inspired luxurious space.
“As a local Tasmanian business, we wanted to support other Tasmanian businesses and surround our clients with Tasmanian beauty.”
Laura McCusker created kunanyi/ Mt Wellington inspired lounges, there is Cygnet hand-thrown basins and pots, Tas-oak joinery and a wide range of Australian and Tasmanian made products available to support skin health between treatments.
“We have always been a destination business, we don’t get foot traffic down here, but we love being down by the waterfront and parking is so easy.”
Lavada regularly welcomes visitors to Hobart who seek out a world-class luxurious experience as part of their stay, with accommodation packages available through MACq01 and Henry Jones Art Hotel.
