🎸 FRANKO Finale PaArRRty!
It’s always a sad time bidding farewell to Franko’s, we hate to see it go. Alas, all good things come to an end, and this will be an action-packed send-off (free entry of course!) kicking off at 4.00pm. LIMBER up people because back by popular demand it’s 7 piece Captain O’Brien’s Craic bringing Irish punk, rock, and folk to the square to take the night out. With a fountain packed full of superstar street food vendors and bars flowing with the best Tassie brews + eccentric mixologists, it’s a FINALE you won’t forget.

🎨 Ogoh-Ogoh Mask Making for Dark Mofo
There’s always a bunch of amazing things happening at the iconic Archaica Schola. During Dark Mofo, the winter solstice takes place and thousands of people come together to carry through the streets and then burn a giant paper mache Tasmanian animal. Made by artists in Bali and called an ogoh-ogoh, the creature is filled with our written fears. We burn the fears together in a glorious ceremony on June 15.
Everyone’s welcome to join in so why not do so in style wearing a mask.
These Sunday afternoon mask making workshops will be run by several different artists in two week blocks, and we suggest you book at least two sessions to be able to complete your mask (though you can book as many as you like!).
These costs of these workshops have been subsidised by the ogoh-ogoh project, and all materials are provided (though you’re also welcome to bring anything you’d like to use!). The ogoh-ogoh mask making sessions culminate with the final class taking place on June 15th, with the parade and burning of the ogoh-ogoh taking place that evening with participants of the mask making workshops joining in the parade!
When: Sundays, 1.30pm – 3pm
Where: Archaica Schola, 121 Macquarie St, Hobart
Check out Archaica Schola’s website for more information and tickets.
Whether you’re dancing at Franko, celebrating Japanese culture, enjoying live music, or crafting masks for Dark Mofo, there’s something for everyone. Don’t miss out on the fun in Hobart this weekend!
