Creative Summer at YARC
Looking for something fun and inspiring these school holidays? The Youth Arts & Recreation Centre (YARC) has put together an incredible program for young people aged 12–25, packed with creative, hands-on experiences. Whether you’re into art, performance, music, or just want to try something new, there’s a workshop for you.
Across January, you can dive into comedy, learn to cook global cuisines, explore photography, and even start your own podcast with help from Edge Radio. If you’ve ever wanted to sing but didn’t know where to start, there’s a relaxed singing workshop, plus practical skills like first aid to boost your confidence. For something active and unique, try fencing, or get crafty with Market Makers and Furry Friday, where you’ll create costumes and market goodies. And to wrap it all up? A big karaoke party to celebrate the end of the program!

Creative Holiday Workshops at Kickstart Arts
Kickstart Arts is bringing the creativity this summer with a series of hands-on workshops for young people! Learn storytelling through tabletop role-playing games, devise and perform your own play, or get crafty with bold paper portraits and dada-inspired zines. Budding chefs can join a cook-and-take-home meal session, while nature lovers will enjoy making endangered animal portraits and drawing Tasmania’s stunning marine wildlife.
