With Dark Mofo’s official program kicking off this week, our local business community are getting involved in the festivities by running several events and activities to embrace the dark.

❌ Boodle Beasley
Boodle Beasley is turning up the Dark Mofo energy with themed cocktails, food specials and flash tattoos from the artists at Scarr Parlour across two Fridays in June. Add in a Delinquente takeover and a free drink with every tattoo, and it’s shaping up as a suitably chaotic festival pit stop!
❌ Little Missy Patisserie
Little Missy Patisserie presents Dark Fomo: Foreplay, an intimate one-hour sensory experience featuring chef-selected bites, complimentary refreshments and a mysterious tarot encounter with Madame Onyx. With limited spaces and no online bookings, this exclusive Dark Mofo event invites guests to indulge their curiosity after dark.
❌ Fico
Fico’s beloved Midnight Pasta returns for Dark Mofo, opening from 11 pm for a late-night feast of pasta, snacks, wine and good chaos. With guests from Melbourne’s acclaimed Tipo 00 and tunes rolling into the early hours, it’s a walk-in-only celebration of food, friendship and festival energy.
❌ Twisted Lime
Get ready for another Dark Lime experience! Twisted Lime is diving headfirst into Dark Mofo with a packed program of DJs, bands, live instrumentation, abrasive electronics, techno and late-night trivia across the festival period. Expect loud nights, late finishes and plenty of dark dancefloor energy.
❌ DoubleTree
DoubleTree’s hidden bar experience, Misterio, invites guests into a moody world of red light, vintage styling, signature cocktails, and cryptic surprises. Open across select Dark Mofo nights, the immersive pop-up also features DJs, photo prizes and a secret mystery room waiting to be uncovered.

❌ Derwent Distillery
Derwent Distillery is embracing Dark Mofo with a series of immersive workshops, including tarot and cocktail pairings, dark cocktail masterclasses and a celestial paint-and-sip session inspired by winter rituals. Each event blends creativity, flavour and atmosphere in the heart of the distillery.
❌ La Sardina Loca
The crew are back with their iconic La Dark Sardina 2026, transforming the carriageway into a glowing courtyard of disco, cocktails, music and dance across two festival weekends. With 14 artists and free entry, it’s set to be a lively late-night hub during Dark Mofo.
❌ Bar Wa Izakaya
Midnight Ramen returns to Bar Wa Izakaya for two late-night Dark Mofo sessions serving bold, experimental ramen, snacks and drinks from 11 pm – 1 am. Expect winter flavours, nostalgic party tunes and good vibes into the wee houes of the morning.
❌ State Library and Archives of Tasmania
The State Library and Archives of Tasmania is exploring themes of ritual, mysticism and the occult during Dark Mofo through after-dark access to collections and performances inspired by spirits, alchemy and arcane knowledge. All the fires come alive is free to attend, the experience invites visitors to discover libraries as spaces of gathering, reflection and hidden stories.
❌ Pablos Cocktails and Dreams
Pablos Cocktails and Dreams is bringing back Dark Pablos with a festival program of jazz jams, psychedelia, folk-jazz fusion and late-night performances. Set against the venue’s signature speakeasy-inspired backdrop, the series promises moody cocktails and sophisticated after-dark atmosphere.

❌ The Den
Serving up late-night jazz, the Den are featuring reimagined classics and Tasmanian-inspired cocktails throughout Dark Mofo, alongside house-made mulled wine and nightcap specials from 10 pm. The intimate program includes a live performance from the Loveless Trio on 19 June.
❌ Mountain Culture
Mountain Culture’s annual Readings After Dark returns during Dark Mofo, offering tarot, oracle, pendulum and intuitive readings from professional readers in a warm, welcoming brewery setting. Guests are invited to explore divination, share a drink and embrace the mystery of the season.
❌ Willing Wine
Willing Wine invites guests to an indulgent Noir Dark Dinner Party during Dark Mofo, pairing a multi-course feast with matched wines, dark cocktails and a theatrical live performance from Nikkie Glamour. Equal parts decadent and playful, the evening promises an unforgettable winter celebration.
❌ Rude Boy
Rude Boy is teaming up with iconic Australian bar Double Deuce Lounge for a high-energy Dark Mofo Sunday session featuring guest bartenders, sexy cocktails, groovy tunes and a suitably naughty festival finale.
❌ Kuuma
Dark Dip returns to Hobart’s waterfront with floating wood-fired sauna rituals combining heat, icy plunges and guided wellness experiences during Dark Mofo. Blending fire, water and winter air, the sessions invite guests to slow down, reset and embrace the season.
❌ Preachers
Preachers is celebrating Dark Mofo with two weeks of vinyl DJs, wood fires, hot drinks, spicy burgers and collaborative pop-ups with local and interstate friends, creating a warm and lively festival hideaway.
❌ Artgym
In need of a Dark Mofo recovery and preparation session? Artgym are blending kettlebell and bodyweight workouts with live DJ soundscapes. Soft Scene 2026 is designed for all fitness levels. The sessions focus on movement, energy, recovery and surviving the festival season.
❌ Nova Holistic Spa
Nova Spa is leaning into winter ritual with Dark Mofo-inspired experiences, including therapeutic bathhouse sessions, tarot readings, micro facials and private sound baths. The program invites guests to slow down, reflect and reconnect through warmth, stillness and restoration.
❌ YARC
Youth Arts & Recreation Centre’s Dark YARC will remain open across both Dark Mofo weekends, welcoming young people aged 12–25 to gather, create and connect in the space alongside public viewings of the exhibition LAUNCH.

❌ Archaica Schola
leaning into the spirit of Dark Mofo this June with a program of hands-on workshops and experimental live art events. From Ogoh-Ogoh mask making and a two-day ceramics workshop with Janine Brody, to Tabula Rasa – a collaborative night of spoken word, live art, sound and projection with Fugazi Gallery (WA) – the series invites the community to create, participate and embrace the darkly creative energy of the festival. Materials and refreshments are provided, with all welcome to join in.
❌ Mawson Hut
Get ready for a haunting Dark Mofo experience this June with Nothing Left but Forward, an intimate live storytelling event exploring the extreme realities of Antarctic exploration during the Heroic Age. Set inside the historic replica huts, the immersive experience traces the stories of Douglas Mawson, Ernest Shackleton and Robert Falcon Scott through moments of isolation, survival and endurance, with guests invited to prepare a warm drink as part of the journey. All proceeds support the Mawson’s Huts Foundation.
❌ Cult Logic
Embracing the Dark Mofo spirit, Cult Logic are extending its opening hours from 11–22 June, serving up festival-ready comforts including dark mimosas, natural wines, spiked butterscotch schnapps coffees and bottomless batch brew. The café will also offer special hangover-curing toasties throughout the festival period, with no bookings needed – just roll in or order ahead.
❌ Alabama Hotel
Alabama Hotel is hosting a Dark Mofo special upstairs on Wednesday 17 June, inviting everyone – neighbours, co-workers, cousins and lovers alike – to settle into the festival feels. With doors from 6 pm, the night promises toasties, drinks and plenty of good energy in a relaxed after-dark setting.
❌ New Sydney Hotel
The New Sydney Hotel’s Dark Session brings candlelit Irish trad music, Guinness on tap, whiskey specials and hearty winter fare together for a cosy afternoon celebration during Dark Mofo.
❌ Providence Café
Get cosy in the corner of NoHo, Providence Cafe are offering a warm retreat from the Dark Mofo chill with an evening of live jazz, cosy atmosphere, dinner and drinks in North Hobart. Tasmanian pianist Nicky will perform a relaxed set of original compositions and improvisations influenced by classical music and flamenco from 6 – 8 pm on Saturday, 13 June. Free to attend, guests are invited to settle in for a winter evening of music, desserts and good company.
❌ The Stagg
The Stagg is welcoming early risers with The Dawn Service on 22 June, pairing coffee and 90s dance anthems from 7 am in a high-energy send-off to the Dark Mofo season.
