Little Missy Patisserie specialise in beautifully crafted sweet and savory provencal French style pastries and superb coffee from local coffee roasters. They also make cakes to order which require 24/48 hours notice. All food is vegetarian and they use seasonal local produce as much as possible. Little Missy Patisserie is takeaway only for the immediate future.

Enjoying the autumn sun, coupled with a delightful coffee and patisserie in hand is one of the highlights of living in Hobart.
We are reminiscing on our recent trip to Little Missy Patisserie, where we were welcomed into this family business with the upmost hospitality.
Chatting with owner Oonagh, and team member Denise, we got the opportunity to get a taste of the goodies that the cafe that has been providing since 2014.
“We are like a small little family. Every member of the team here is equal. We help out wherever it is needed, it might be front-of-house, cooking or cleaning the dishes” | Denise
You won’t find a written menu here either, the team change it up day-by-day depending on what is in season and use their cooking instincts to put together some of the very best savoury pastries and sweet patisseries in town. There are a few regular items, such as soup in winter and vanilla slice most days.

Oonagh’s favourite thing on the menu is the vanilla slice when it is ‘fresh off the board’ or as soon as it is put together. The Hello Hobart team tried the tomato soup and the fresh salad which were put together with flavours which contrasted perfectly.
The team took into consideration all of our dietary requirements and also had us try their peanut butter chocolate fudge which we can report was 10/10.
Oonagh’s culinary experience is truly impressive, having left the state in her early 20s, she travelled around the world cooking and then onto high-end restaurants throughout Australia. Her travels took her back to Hobart and onto opening up a stall at the famous Salamanca Market. Family life was important to Oonagh and a work life balance owning her own business was more in keeping with what she desired along with a passion for home cooking.
In fact, the patisserie was never intended to have a servery section and rather was originally set to be solely a commercial kitchen.
“It happened very organically and this is why we have only a small seating area and are in an unusual area. But with most things, it worked out perfectly. With the right food and coffee, people will come” | Oonagh tells us delightfully.
The family of staff here also bring with them a wealth of experience from other well-respected restaurants and cafés. Oonagh underwent cancer treatment earlier this year and she simply gleams of joy when describing how the team held the fort with passion and dedication whilst she was receiving treatment.
The team offer a number of gluten-free and vegan options, plus the café is fully vegetarian. Sourcing all of their products locally. For example, at the moment they have black figs and rhubarb from Hobart gardens that are the stars of the menu.
They also make cakes to order too, so for the next special occasion requiring a dessert that will keep your guests raving, give the team a call to organise.
