Hobart is an exceptionally creative city, home to world class galleries, artesian
makers, and a thriving cultural community. While there are shared studios and
specialised workshops available, these spaces are often aimed at professionals or
come at price point that limit access.
Studio Selkie was created to:
GIVE THE COMMUNITY ACCESS TO ART SUPPLIES WITHOUT THE PRICETAG
At Selkie anyone can drop in and experiment without buying their own materials.
Everything is ready for you to come in and play.
GIVE THE COMMUNITY ACCESS TO A STUDIO SPACE
For those creating on dining tables or bedroom floors, Selkie offers inclusive pricing
so people can bring their projects in and work in a proper studio.
GIVE THE COMMUNITY A TECH FREE ALTERNATIVE
Creativity is more than just self-expression. It supports mental health, reduces
stress, builds confidence, and fosters connection. It just feels good to put the phone
down and make something.
