A vibrant collective of fourteen artists from Tasmania's Huon Valley will come together this September for a dynamic group exhibition at the Long Gallery, Salamanca Arts Centre. The Artists of the Huon Valley showcases the breadth and diversity of artistic practice thriving in one of the state's most creatively rich regions.
Running in The Long Gallery, the exhibition brings together painters, photographer, ceramicist, weavers, furniture makers and sculptors, offering audiences an engaging cross-section of contemporary work inspired by the Huon Valley's landscapes, communities, and creative spirit.
Together, these artists present a compelling dialogue between form, texture, colour, and place-ranging from evocative landscapes and intimate still life works to bold abstractions and finely crafted objects.
This exhibition also offers a preview of the region's creative energy ahead of the annual Huon Valley Studio Arts Trail, held at the end of October. Visitors inspired by the exhibition are encouraged to explore the Trail and experience firsthand the studios, processes, and environments that shape these artists' work.
Artists of the Huon Valley celebrates not only individual artistic voices but also the strength of collaboration within a regional arts community. It is an invitation to discover, connect, and be inspired.
