Four strangers – a cricket-loving boy, a reluctant teenage girl, a mother on a work-gifted holiday and a local tour guide – are brought together in the wake of one of Australia’s darkest moments. As their stories collide, memories and resentments give way to healing and human connection.

Written from consultation with the survivors, families of victims, and helping professions affected by the Port Arthur Massacre for its 10 year anniversary, Beyond the Neck returns to Tasmania for the first time since 2007. A tender exploration of the ongoing impacts of unspoken trauma, it asks - what unites us in the wake of devastation?

It is a gentle and non-voyeuristic testimony to the healing possibilities of storytelling.
